Especially for Mrs Hough

Filed under: Uncategorized — tasbay2 at 6:39 pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2011

Mrs Hough, today in writing time the children choose one of the following dinosaurs and wrote a description of it. Can you guess which dinosaur they chose?

Dear Mrs Hough, my dinosaur has spikes on its back and has muscly feet. It has black scales. It has sharp teeth with a long tail. From Isamaeli

Dear Mrs Hough, this dinosaur that I am describing, it has three horns. It stomps its feet and the dirt turns into dust. It has a big neck so he won’t die, so he can live and see people and see if he can be a pet. It has sharp teeth and a very, very short tail. Some dinosaurs can have three horns and it can be called a long neck. From Jack T

To Mrs Hough, The dinosaur that I am talking about has a short tail and a fat body and sharp claws also. It has a flat back and a wrinkly tummy too. It also has lines in its head and a neck protector too. It has round feet and tiny eyes and sharp claws. It can run fast too. It has a little nose so it can breath through. From Bella

Dear Mrs Hough, I am describing a dinosaur. You have to try to guess what dinosaur I am describing. My dinosaur has three horns. It is grey. It also has round feet. It has a smooth body. It has a short tail. From Abigail.

So the dinosaur that I’m describing has spikes and sharp teeth. It also has like really extraordinary sharp claws. Also the dinosaur is very, very long and the dinosaur has three toes. It also is black and white. Love from Kiriwai.

Dear Mrs Hough, the dinosaur I am describing has small eyes and long legs. It doesn’t have much wrinkles and a medium sized tail. It kind of has a mow-hawk on it’s nose. It has big feet with little claws on its feet. It has sharp teeth. Yours sincerely, love from Mia.

In the weekend I went to my cousins place for a sleep over. We played rugby. Then uncle said we could go to the beach. I had a swim.

By Isamaeli

In the weekend my Mum or Dad did the house up. It is all done. It looks cool now. We also went to Brooklyn’s house. At Brooklyn’s house we fed cats. One cat got caught in the tree.

By Abigail

On Sunday I went to two churches. The first church I went to was fun. I had lots of fun because we learnt Noah’s Ark. We had to do a picture and then we had to stick a cloud sticker on. The colours were blue, yellow and grey. The second church was Jane and Hannah’s church. It was cool.

By Adriena

In the weekend I had a sore back. It was very sore and ouchy too. I had to have an ice-pack. The ice-pack was cold too. Then we went to church too. Then I went to my friends place. It was fun.

By Bella

On Sunday I went to church. At church we sang like an angel. We sang heaps of beautiful songs. Then we went into kids church. We made some stuff for the lovliest and hansomest Fathers or Dads. Then we made a shield. My shield was a shiny, beautiful, purple shield, I love my church. It is as lovely as a piece of glitter or an angel, a little and very bright angel too.

By Theresa

In the weekend I got to do awesome things like making and playing on the cool computer. I played weird Friv. Then I went to Sunday market. I got a dolphin made out of wood. I played with my awesome friend called Tane. Then I got to have a free burger that was yummy.

My Mum and Dad are the best Mum and Dad I have ever had because they look after me really well. My amazing Mum and fantastic Dad are just really great to me, that is why I have made up an awesome and pretty poem for them. It goes like this: You look very beautiful, just like the pretty, blue sky with green, pretty frogs jumping up and down in the cloudy, blue sky. You both smell fresh just like the really calm, beautiful rivers.

In the weekend I went swimming. I had to race someone. It was fun. I went to the big pool. It was fun.

SPCA and Natureland

Filed under: Uncategorized — tasbay2 at 4:40 pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Last Tuesday, Room 1 and 2 went to the SPCA and Natureland in Nelson because this term our topic is “God generously gave us animals.”

For the last 3 weeks in class, we have been looking at what a pet is and what it needs. We found out what happens to animals when they are not looked after properly. We got to visit the SPCA. They gave us a short talk and showed us some video presentations. Then we were able to look at the animals they had.

After that, we drove to Tahunanui where we had lunch on the grass and then a short play on the playgrounds.

At 12:00pm, we headed of to Natureland and spent the next couple of hours looking at all the animals they have there. We enjoyed watching the monkeys get fed and we were able to see some animals we had never seen before like merecats.

All in all, it was a great day!

How to make and blow a bubble

Filed under: Uncategorized — tasbay2 at 3:44 pm on Monday, June 20, 2011

For science Room 1 and 2 have been looking at mixtures. Last science lesson we looked at mixing dish-washing liquid and water together to make bubble mixture. We added different amounts of dish-washing liquid to see if it would make a difference to the bubbles we made.

For writing, we are writing instructions for other people to read. Since we made bubbles, we decided to write about “How to Make and Blow a Bubble.” Below are some of the writing responses of the children who come to Room 2 to do writing.

First you have to get dish-washing liquid and water. Next have fun.       By Jaxson

The first thing you need to do to make bubbles is to get one ice-cream container. Next you need to get the dish-washing liquid and water. After that you mix them together. Then you blow gently and that’s how you make and blow a bubble. Have fun.          By Mia

If you want to make some bubbles all you need to do is get out an ice-cream container. Then you need to cut the ice-cream container. Next you need to put the water and put the soap into the ice-cream container. Now you need to mix the water and the soap together. When you get your bubble blower, you need to put the bubble blower in the mixture and then blow quite softly. Then a bubble might appear. It might be a big bubble. Have fun.          By Jack

If you like to make bubbles all you have to do is mix dish washing liquid and water together. The next thing you need to do is get a bubble blower. After that you can blow some bubbles. To blow bubbles you need to dip the bubble blower into the mixture. Then that is when you can start blowing bubbles and have fun.          By Kiriwai

Kiriwai’s Recount

Filed under: Uncategorized — tasbay2 at 4:44 pm on Saturday, March 26, 2011

Last Friday our whole school went for a walk to the Abel Tasman National Park. When we got to school the first thing was to hop on the bus. Then the next thing we did was drive to Marahau. When we hopped off the bus we went for the walk. It was a very long walk. When our whole school got to the Tineline Bay Beach, we had lunch. Then I asked the teacher if I could go for a swim because some of the older kids were in the sea with Miss Aldridge. The big kid’s names were Tui, Tangiwai and I think some other people were in the sea. I got changed. Miss Mansell and Ella were holding the towel over me and I got changed in my togs and had a swim but it wasn’t really a swim because it was too cold. So I just found crabs and went into the cave and played games.

(Kiriwai was away when we did the artwork to go with our recounts. She will do the artwork next week sometime and then I will update this post)

Taliah’s Recount

Filed under: Uncategorized — tasbay2 at 4:43 pm on Saturday, March 26, 2011

On Friday the whole school went to Abel Tasman on the buses and vans.  It was quiet on the van. Then we started to walk to Tinline Bay Beach. On the way while we were walking we could look at the lookouts but I wasn’t interested because I wanted to get to the beach fast. After that we had lunch. Then we played games and went in the cave and found crabs. Theresa and me played a game with princesses, mermaids and servants. We swapped characters and we played on the rocks, water and sand. Next we walked back to the van. We hopped on it and went back to school to get the bus driver. He took us home.
